A Little Bit of Childhood in the Garden

When I was younger I used to play with a collection of dolls that represented different countries. I asked my mom the other day what ever happened to them, but she said she wasn’t sure where they went. So, we were cleaning out the garage and in one of the boxes we found them all. I was so excited and decided to do a little photo-shoot with them. I got the idea from a blog I visit every now and then called Quimpy Hittys. I don’t know much about the author, but it is a blog that shows their wooden doll collection in random places (climbing trees, holding berries, on a bridge, etc.). It is really cute and so I thought I’d do something similar for this post. I not only find my childhood dolls cute, but it reminds me of the memories I had when I was younger and all the fun I would have.

If you have been following my blog or know much about me, you know I love observing nature and taking pictures of the beautiful plants and animals/insects I see. I think it is a wonderful way to relieve stress and relax. If you want to see something truly beautiful just step outside and look around you.

Quotes Dealing with Childhood and Nature

“There is a garden in every childhood, an enchanted place where colors are brighter, the air softer, and the morning more fragrant than ever again.” -Elizabeth Lawrence

“Sweet childish days, that were as long
As twenty days are now.
-William Wordsworth, “To a Butterfly”

“If you carry your childhood with you, you never become older.” -Tom Stoppard

“The sun, with all those planets revolving around it and dependent on it, can still ripen a bunch of grapes as if it had nothing else in the universe to do.” -Galileo

“Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.” -Lao Tzu

Speaking of childhood and nature, I recently discovered some baby caterpillars in my backyard. There is this one plant that is always covered in bright orange spiky caterpillars and one day they all disappeared (I assume to become butterflies), and as I looked closer, I noticed new little babies were now there.

Stay tuned for more nature photos. And if you haven’t already done so, please visit and like my Facebook Page to see more photos and information not included on my blog. Thanks!
